MARK TEMPLER
Have you ever wanted to climb out of the
aeroplane window and touch the clouds?
Mark Templer makes time-lapse films of the
dynamic scenes around us that we often overlook. By capturing them
and altering their timebase, the intricacies and development of
form are revealed.
In this installation (Soar 1) he uses time-lapse
movies of cloud formations as they gather and soar. These are projected through
mesh screens in a darkened space to create an environment that gives the
viewer a multi-dimensional experience of walking among the
clouds. He adds a spiritual element to the piece through the use of 12th
century choral music... as the angelic voices soar, the clouds build,
creating an atmosphere that transports the viewer to a place where they
can feel connected to the natural world.
Soar 1 (multi-media installation), 2012
